Power Engineers are usually interested to calculate the power units that are generated per annum. This can be achieved if either the average load in kW or maximum demand and Load factor values are known.
Two formulas in this regard can be used:
- Electric units generated per annum = Average load in kW X Total hours in a year (8760)
- Electric units generated per annum = Max demand in kW X LF X 8760
Where the average load itself is a product of maximum demand and load factor
Mathematically: Average Load = Max demand X Load Factor
